History and mission
A two-week immersion in experimental physics and CBPF's scientific infrastructure.
The School
EAFExp is designed for undergraduate and graduate students in Physics and related fields from across Brazil, Latin America and other countries around the World.
Each participant follows the preparation of the experiments, use of instrumentation, data acquisition, analysis and communication of results. The School values regional and cultural diversity and access to advanced infrastructure.
Recognized education
EAFExp is part of the advanced educational activities of CBPF's Graduate Program.
Participants who complete the School's activities may receive academic credits from CBPF's Graduate Program and request their transfer to their home programs.
Credit transfer is subject to the rules and approval of each participant's home institution.
Plurality as a principle
Scientific excellence also depends on who has the opportunity to participate, ask questions and propose new paths.
EAFExp therefore works to broaden access, encourage women's participation and bring together students from different regional, cultural and institutional backgrounds.
This plurality is not merely a result of selection: it is part of the School's educational project.
Education beyond the bench
Experimental practice is at the heart of EAFExp. But training scientists also means understanding how knowledge is produced, communicated and situated in society.
Seminars and discussions therefore complement laboratory work, promoting dialogue, reflection and transformation.
The goal is to train technically strong scientists who understand their social role and are prepared to build more open, ethical and plural science.
Dialogue · reflection · transformation
